Choose the canvas hand and structure together. A heavier-looking surface does not automatically create the brim behavior you want.

A practical buying example
A brand selects olive canvas for an outdoor collection and wants a downward brim with a tonal cord. The first sample may have the correct color but a more level brim. Mark the intended angle in side and rear views before requesting softer fabric. A material change could affect the crown as well as the brim and should be reviewed as such.
Questions to settle before requesting a sample
Use canvas for its chosen hand and appearance, not as shorthand for durability or protection claims. Ask how the full brim is measured, how cord attachments are finished and how the hat will be packed. Compare a soft travel construction if repeated folding is central to the product rather than assuming a canvas sun hat has that behavior.
